Award for Civic Contribution to Duffield
Do you know someone who has made an outstanding contribution to Duffield, our community or our beautiful surroundings? If so, nominate them for the new Duffield Parish Council Annual Award for Civic Contribution.
Duffield is a great place to live, but what helps make it great is the efforts of many people putting in unpaid (and often unsung) hours of volunteering work. The Parish Council has created this Annual Award as a way of us saying 'thank you' and to help us celebrate what is good about Duffield.
An application form is available below, with paper copies being available at the Parish Office at Cemetery Lodge, 43 Hazelwood Road, Duffield (or can be posted to you on request). We want to know what the contribution is, how it has impacted others, for how long, and anything else that you think is relevant. The Award is open only to people who live in Duffield.
Applications are open now and the Award will be made at the Annual Council Meeting on May 7th, 2025.
Please read the rules of entry at the bottom of this page before completing the form. A supporting document or photo can also be added to support your nomination, if wished.
- The award will be limited to those who are a Duffield resident.
- Nominators should not be a relative of the person they are nominating.
- Serving Parish Councillors and Parish Council employees are excluded from consideration for the Award.
- Entries must be made on the above nomination form, or a paper copy to be obtained from the Duffield Parish Council office at Cemetery Lodge, 43 Hazelwood Road, Duffield, to be returned to the same address or to clerk@duffieldparishcouncil.gov.uk .
- The closing date for entries is 31 March 2025.
- Prizes will consist of a plaque to be presented at the Annual Council Meeting on 7th May 2025. Any other prizes will be announced in the forthcoming weeks on the website.
- Nominated individuals will be considered by a panel consisting of Mark Spilsbury, Pippa Rowen, the Chair of the Parish Council, the Clerk of the Parish Council and a nominated representative of the DCA.
- Any contribution to village life will be considered, whether this is part of a club, society or organization or on an individual basis. In the assessment, consideration will be given to the overall impact on the village and its residents, length of time of contribution and innovation in establishing new projects.
- The panel's decision is final.
